OneKit Shipping — Support & FAQ

By Ballena App · Contact: negocioalternativo@proton.me

Before you start: plan requirement

OneKit Shipping needs carrier-calculated shipping to be available on your store. You have it on Grow (billed yearly, or monthly with the CCS add-on), Advanced, or Plus. Development stores also work. Basic (even yearly) does not include CCS. Without it, Shopify won't show the app's rate at checkout.

Setup

  1. Install OneKit Shipping from the Shopify App Store and approve the plan (7-day free trial).
  2. Open the app from Apps in your Shopify admin.
  3. Pick the kit product variant, for example "Chess set – Walnut".
  4. Pick the items in the kit, for example board, pieces and clock. These are the component items your bundle app adds to the order.
  5. Set the kit shipping price, the one price you want to charge to ship the whole kit.
  6. Optional: check the weight tiers used for other items in the cart and change them if needed.
  7. Click Save. Changes apply at checkout within about a minute.
  8. Add the kit to your cart and go to checkout to check the rate.

When you click Save, the app creates its carrier service (if needed) and adds it to every zone in your default General shipping profile. If the rate still doesn't show, open Settings › Shipping and delivery and check that the kit's products aren't only in a custom shipping profile (v1 covers the General profile), and that your store has carrier-calculated shipping available.

How kits are priced

Why do kits get undercharged without this app?

Many bundle apps split a kit into its component items at checkout. Shipping is then worked out for each item as if it were a small separate parcel. The customer pays the small-parcel rate, but you pay to ship one large box.

What does OneKit Shipping charge?

The buyer sees all of this as one shipping rate at checkout.

Example

You set the chess set kit to ship for $25.00. A buyer orders one chess set and a book that isn't part of a kit. The rate is $25.00 for the kit plus the weight-tier price for the book. The board, pieces and clock aren't charged separately. (Example amounts only.)

What about my other shipping options?

They stay available by default. In the app's settings you can turn on Show only the kit rate when a kit is in the cart. Your other shipping options are then hidden only when a kit is in the cart and the kit rate is offered. Pickup and local delivery are never hidden. If the kit rate is missing, nothing is hidden. Turn it off at any time to show all options again.

What if there's no kit in the cart?

The app still returns a rate for the cart based on your weight tiers. Your store's other shipping options stay available as usual.

Plans and billing

Early Adopter: $8.99/month (price stays locked for stores that join during launch). Standard: $12.99/month. Both plans have a 7-day free trial. The app is free on development stores. Shopify bills you with your Shopify invoice.

Removing the app

  1. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Apps (called Apps and sales channels in some admins).
  2. Find OneKit Shipping, open the ⋯ menu and choose Uninstall.

When you uninstall, the app's rate stops showing at checkout, Shopify stops the app charge, and we delete your kit configuration from our storage. Before you uninstall, check that your shipping zones still have the rates you want buyers to see.

Privacy

The app stores only your kit configuration and subscription status. It doesn't store customer names, addresses, emails or orders. See the privacy policy.
